Summary
Zoey Brooks was a freshman when her biology teacher made the gruff and off-handed remark that crushes really only last for 4 to 6 months. She doesn't remember exactly the explanation Missus Reynolds gave for why- something about a crash of hormone levels in the brain or some such. She could ask Quinn, she supposes, but that is not a level of humiliation she could recover from. In her junior year, Zoey is counting on it being true.
She just has to keep her cool until March, April at the latest. Luckily, there is always something going on at Pacific Coast Academy to serve as distractions.
