“Nene-chan, Nene-chan,” Emu said as she gently pulled on Nene’s shirt to grab her attention.Nene turned to face her. “Emu?” she asked, slightly confused. “What is it? Is something wrong?”
Judging by Emu’s expression, nothing was wrong. “No, of course not!” Emu exclaimed happily. She dug something out of her pocket and held out two small objects. “Here!” she said as she placed one of the two objects in Nene’s palm and closing it for her.
Nene opened her palm, eyes widening when she realised what the object was. “This is…?” she muttered in surprise and wonder.
Resting on her palm was a mint green paper ring, decorated with glitter and sparkles.
