For some reason suddenly embarrassed, Shinsou shrugged his shoulders. He knew it wasn’t very heroic of him to do it, but he couldn’t find any other way to get Eraserhead’s attention, and he needed it if he wanted to become a hero himself. It was impossible for him to be accepted into any proper hero school due to his quirk, which he was told plenty of times already, but surely the hero like Eraserhead would know some ways to teach him and make something our of him despite that, right?

She was always just too high for his little hands to reach, even stood on the tallest piece of furniture he could climb on. As he got older, she just seemed to get further and further out of reach, moving away even as he tried desperately to help. Eventually, it began to end with her falling off the edge of that little shelf, slipping down behind a large, damp cabinet he was too small to move, losing her forever behind the rotting wood placed right against the wall in their dingy little apartment.
It had all clicked for him when he came back to her dead in the bathroom from a heroin overdose.
