Erring with caution, he looked inside the bag, worried that Jannik may have left some documentation inside like his hotel keys or accreditation, or even something like his phone. But what he instead found, nestled amongst the spare kit and used up towels, were letters, including one that had his name on them. Jannik never normally wrote to people via letter, instead preferring a simple text, or even facetime calls - Matteo had been privy to a few in his time of knowing Jannik. But given everything that was going on in the Italian’s life, he figured that it was an urgent matter, one he didn’t quite have courage to say to people’s faces - out of fear of judgement or fear of not understanding, he didn’t know.
