Summary
Eoin has always thought — or maybe wished — that he’ll be able to tell the moment he meets the love of his life. Their eyes will meet, and it’ll be a sudden realisation, a flash of lightning, and he’ll simply know. He’ll know, and they’ll be able to start their lives together right away, because Eoin McGonigal is a man of many virtues but patience has never been one of them.
He meets Paddy on a Friday.
There is no realisation, no lightning. Eoin doesn’t even know his second name. All he gets is a nickname, the vague sense that he’s forgetting something, and a moderate to extreme level of attraction toward the man who had been sitting in front of him.
If he’d been told Paddy’s second name, maybe it could’ve explained all the other things away. Maybe then he would’ve remembered where exactly he knew him from, and the day he’d had that feeling, lightning and all, all those years ago.

Summary
You are a nurse, fighting Cairo heat and on the outskirts of war. They were soldiers, deeply changed and moved by one-another. One fixated on you, the other consumed. All three fight instincts and find ways to deal with what you've all fallen into - an infectious greed without a cure.
'What of vile dust?' the preacher said.
Methought the whole world woke,
The dead stone lived beneath my foot,
And my whole body spoke.'You, that play tyrant to the dust,
And stamp its wrinkled face,
This patient star that flings you not
Far into homeless space.- The Praise Of Dust, G.K Chesterton.

Summary
This whole assignment has felt like a lesson in letting go. Not just throwing oneself off an airplane with nothing but a parachute, but also letting go of the rules. Letting go of order. Without it, Fraser feels bare like a bairn. What a fine armour it was, structure. A man hides well within it because he is no longer a man, he is an instrument.
Fraser has many things to hide.
Fraser's quiet time is interrupted.

Summary
“Was there water?” Ambrose asks.
“It is the desert, Ambrose” Paddy says gently and he is supposed to be the mad one, the one who has to be gentled down from delusion and insanity like a child, not Ambrose, never Ambrose “There was no water around for miles”
Of all the things to be asking after…
“It rained” Paddy says at last, “Monsoon rain, biblical, washed away the landscape entire. By the time I had a mind to go and look for him again everything had changed and there was no way to find him. I did look. I did look for him. I swear it”
Paddy looks up to find Ambrose smiling a private smile and nodding like he’s hearing voices Paddy can not.
"Rain might just be enough" Ambrose says, seeming pleased with the answer "Rain and the saltwater of tears”Or: Eoin comes back.

Summary
McKenzie Stirling was never meant to wear a uniform, never meant to carry a rifle or light a fuse. But with a forged name and a cropped haircut, “Mac Campbell” slips into the ranks of David Stirling’s mad experiment in the desert. Among the rogues and misfits of the newly-formed SAS, Mac finds herself running circles around the men, building bombs with Jock Lewes, and catching the sharp eye of one Blair “Paddy” Mayne.
What begins as banter between soldiers becomes something more dangerous and even more impossible. Across many countries, Mac and Paddy orbit one another through fire, smoke, and shadows. She is a soldier by day, Stirling’s sister by blood, a secret kept tighter than any mission file. He is a poet with a rifle, feral and reckless, drawn to her like a moth to flame.

Summary
Frankie Bates was fed up, completely and utterly fed up. Why was it that men were allowed to go to war? To risk life and limb for their country, and yet women weren't allowed to. Yes, women were still invaluable to the war effort, but by god, was it unfair. She wanted to be out in the thick of it, doing what she could for her country.
So one morning, sick to the teeth of it, Frances decided to do something about it, which had somehow led to her being out in the African desert babysitting the SAS, especially a certain blond-haired psychopath.
Disclaimer: I do not condone war or the behaviour of some of these people while at war, I also understand that these where real historical people, but for the purpose of this, I am taking them as they were in the TV show, even if that means changing some parts of there lives. This is Fanfiction

Summary
"Tell me about your fellah.”
“He’s not ‘my fellah’.”
“Tell me about him all the same.”
A slightly different version of the story, told through the eyes of a Welsh commando who once played rugby with Paddy Mayne and once drank gin on a rooftop with Eoin McGonigal.
And while a modicum of historical research was put into this story—as with the show—this is NOT a history lesson. -

Summary
This man is a bully. This is his first impression of Captain Paddy Mayne.
Though, that is not necessarily true.
His first, first impression is, well, that this man is slight. He’s slight, and unkempt – the latter of which he attributes to the harsh living conditions of the desert and the former of which amuses him to an extent.
Now, being the learned man that he is, he knows that looks can be deceiving, that he should be above judging a man before they’ve even spoken. And yet, nothing about Mayne strikes him as particularly threatening. And then - then the man opens his mouth and Augustin knows he's in way over his head.(or: What if Augustin stuck around and what if there's more to Paddy Mayne than his overt aggression)

Summary
Johnny Cooper is a roguish, impulsive, queer man and the youngest of the original L Detachment of the SAS. He's survived a hundred nights he shouldn't have. But in October of 1943 his number comes up. In saving his best friend, Reg Seekings from a shelled truck in Termoli, Italy, Johnny is hit in the back by a sniper. His injuries at Termoli are life changing. He finds himself near death, paralyzed from the chest down, and transported to Stoke Mandeville where he finds himself at the center of a medical revolution. Before now paralyzed men were left to die, but now under the care of Dr. Ludwig Guttmann he stands a fighting chance, not just of survival but recovery. Johnny's story follows the early days of the disability and queer rights movement, and the advent of the paralympic games. And yes, Johnny Cooper will be armed once more, just not quite in the way you might expect.
