The world fades away as he feels himself being rocked into a dreamless sleep in the arms of an endless night. When the last remains of his consciousness slips away, Monty’s body transforms from a werewolf back into the broken body of an eleven year old boy.
OR: Werewolf Monty falls from the Tower of Respect with Edgar in his arms, his friend survives but Monty doesn't. Edgar, Kevin and Roland are left to deal with the aftermath.

“But what if something’s out there?”
“There is something out there.” Kevin sat up with a sigh, exhausted and irritated. “That’s why we need to stay hidden.”

Four boys find themselves abandoned by their families in the middle of winter because, as everybody knows, you send a cursed boy to St. Churnley's forest. It's just as widely known but considerably less acknowledged that once inside, nobody makes it out alive.
