Ash’s shout did the trick, and Pikachu eyes snapped open. In the blink of an eye, he had tackled Ash to the ground and took a defensive position between him and the rest of the class, electricity building in his cheek pouches and beginning to spark outward. The entire class, Lillie especially, flinched back in their seats and looked on with their jaws hanging open. Even Professor Kukui was left speechless at the sudden movement. Before anyone else could even fully process what happened, Ash had sat up and began addressing Pikachu with his palms open and welcoming, but not encroaching on Pikachu’s space. “Hey buddy, you just had a nightmare, you’re safe.”

As Ash took a look around the current area Mallow proposed a small tour of the school, maybe he'd notice his mother somewhere. So he agreed and he and Mallow set off. They walked all around the campus, Mallow pointed out so many interesting things. Eventually, they had gone pretty much everywhere.
"Damn. Still no mom," Ash sighed as they walked to their last stop.
"I'm sure you'll find her soon," Mallow said before turning and knocking on a door, "Principal Oak? I've brought a new student."
"Wait what? I'm not-"
