Summary
As most of the family had eventually gravitated back home to Los Angeles, the tale of the Tucker-Pritchetts had only snippets of Alex's journey to Switzerland and back to the States as she endeavored to answer her mother's question, which really was a question she never was able to fully answer herself: what does Alex Dunphy want?
Takes place during If We Stay as if the finale was in 2021 and the Tucker-Pritchetts decided to stay in LA instead of moving. Reading the series is not necessary unless you want mainly Tucker-Pritchetts, Alex's story will reference the important bits.

Summary
This is a reworking of my largest story to date, namely "Above and Beyond the Horizon." After several years on this platform, I have learned a lot, and I wanted to make that story easier to read. While I think that the bones of it were good, it needed a ruthless edit (and to have the tags and continuity fixed!). If you have read the original story, and would like to give feedback, I would be happy to hear from you. If you have not read that story, I think you should stick to this one, as it's about half the size!
In short, Mr. Darcy is rude to Charlotte instead of Elizabeth at the Netherfield ball. What he doesn't realise is that these two friends have had a falling out, and that Lizzie's reaction to his words make things a lot worse rather than better. Over the course of the story, it becomes clear that some long-overdue changes need to happen...and that some of our characters rise to the challenge of those changes much better than others do.

He was the best brother to the Pogues, especially John B and Pope. John B did ask him to be Josie’s godfather, and he would have been amazing and taken his role very seriously. He absolutely was the King of Friendship, bound by love and loyalty, both running deep. A martyr, devoted beyond what anyone ever asked, until there was nothing left of him.
All these things are true. The words themselves are accurate.
But where were the words for her? Where were the words that told the world of his love for her?
