Tim stepped off the bus that feeling in his gut became stronger, like something was holding his insides and was stopping them from moving like they should, like they were being kept tense waiting for something to tell them they should relax or were forcibly kept limp, these limp and tense organs were wrapped up inside him into a knot, that was everywhere inside of him in his gut behind his ribcage towards somewhere low in his throat blocking the words he had no one to speak to. The grip on his insides held on as he peddled his bike home and up the driveway towards the manor. He parked his bike, didn’t bother opening the garage but left it outside, not in view of the security cameras.

Summary
The Lazarus Pit always takes something from its victims. Usually, it's sanity, memories, emotional regulation, or a combination of the three. It doesn't often take a person's humanity and warp their body beyond recognition.
Seems like Jason Todd is the (un)lucky winner of such an opportunity! When the teenager wakes to a second chance at life, he is forced to live in the body of a monster. Yay!
To survive, he must uncover the limits and powers his new form holds, all while trying to avoid unwanted attention. When he returns home, things only get more difficult. His family actively hunts him, people are terrified by his very presence, and rogues try to catch him for their own uses.People fear what they don't understand. Villains hate what they can't control. Vigilantes detain what they think is dangerous.
There is no place for inhuman monsters in Gotham, but surviving by yourself is lonely. Maybe taking Batman's new little bird under his wing will help somehow?

The one where Jason gets turned into an animalistic cryptid and has to survive Gotham being...well Gotham. Oh, Tim's there too. He's sad, but he thinks that having a cryptid best friend would be pretty cool.

Finally, Bruce looks. Just a glance toward the flyer. He doesn’t take it.
“That’s good,” Bruce says, evenly. “Congratulations.”
Tim swallows. That’s… something. Praise is praise, right? But it feels hollow like a weight in his stomach.
“It’s on Saturday. From four to seven. If—if you’re not busy, I thought maybe...”
His voice trails off under Bruce’s silence._________________

Tim Drake is holding it together. Barely.
He’s an orphan (which, yeah, isn’t exactly rare around here), his guardian barely acknowledges him, his place in the Batfam is… undefined at best, one of his brothers definitely wants him dead, and being Robin is not as fun as it sounds. The weight of Gotham is starting to feel a little heavier each night and sleep is a myth. Add schoolwork and the crushing loneliness of a 16-year-old who lives solo in a giant manor, and you’ve got a disaster cocktail with a cherry on top.
So when a weird floating boy shows up out of nowhere, Tim’s totally sure it’s just his overworked, sleep-deprived brain staging an intervention. A welfare hallucination. Happens.
...Still, it’s kinda nice not being alone for a change.or: Tim Drake is having a no-good, very bad mental health spiral—until a glowing boy phases through his wall. Literally.

But the room was as blurry as the rest. His shoulders slumping, Tim turned to leave, before being stopped by a flicker of gold in the corner of his eye. Walking towards the object, he found a shining golden pen resting lazily on the carpeted floor. Its surface glowed gently, like a firelight behind glass. If Tim wasn’t a vampire…he’s always thinking about that, somewhere in the back of his mind. It’s not fair that half of Gotham’s population live in terror once the sun sets. The Drakes are old blood, with vampiric history going back centuries. Tim has attended countless blood galas and night balls. He’s small and scrawny and easily overlooked- vampires recognize power above all.
They haven’t figured out, like Tim has, that sometimes being overlooked is even more powerful than being noticed.

He knew how to thaw the cold, how to block out the creaking and groaning walls, much like an empty stomach, desperate for something to fill it.
