But in the background, things are at play, events that could threaten everyone's happy ending.

Summary
Well, this is truly how life is in the Underground. You go off with a goal to accomplish one thing, you'll find yourself doing about 100 other things. You save one person, you save a bunch others in the process. Sure, duty is important, but so is having fun, right? Even when the multiverse is at stake?

Summary
Frisk dove headfirst into the Underground after spending all her childhood listening to her Mama tell her and her brother stories of the Monsters trapped below.
What she didn’t expect once she had freed them was not only did Sans have some SOULbond with her mother (ew, that’s her Mama, Sans!) but when Sans accidently brings different versions of him and Papyrus…
Frisk did not sign up for this! All she wanted was to free the Monsters from her Mama’s stories!
While you had certainly seen a lot during your years, suddenly meeting your SOULmate (whom you had believed to have outlived) was like a dream come true. Monsters were getting their rights and freedom, and your relationship with Sans was steadily growing.
...Now throw in four alternate versions of your SOULmate and you're in for a bit of a ride.
Especially when some unwanted familiar faces reappear.

Even then, despite the temporary solution you found, being the only one to ever return from Mt. Ebott has its downsides. The Ministry of Magic has questions, and you don’t know if they’ll like your answers.

Summary
When you start to see the timelines as roots, it all begins to make sense. So, of course, when one applies the name of something to another, you must also apply its rules.
A year ago, one person made the mistake of using the void to reform her world, now the other roots have become poisoned in turn. In turn, neither Frisk nor Chara could know this, not even after they both wake up in a patch of golden flowers after the events of their hundredth reset.
Only, this time, Chara has gained herself a new body.

Summary
Still, despite that, she couldn’t take her eyes off the form of the slumbering girl as it brought her back to reality. And briefly left her wondering if she wouldn’t have been so panicked if she had been wrapped up in the girl’s arms–
Everything in her mind screeched to a halt as if experiencing a major hardware failure, and she shook her head with enough force to cause a hurricane in America. She was not, thinking about that at a time like this.
Earlier had been bad enough, and a lapse in judgement that she wouldn’t be repeating again. Telling the royal family that they were ‘promised’ was just a painless way to explain the magical bond that connected them. And everything she had said to Frisk was true, but going any farther than she was right now could be disastrous.

Summary
“I seek the ultimate blade.”
Frisk knew she was dreaming, not just because of the flames that fell from the front of the forge, or the unknowable man by her side, but because she had seen this all before. A forge of her own creation, made within her dreams, side by side with someone she couldn’t comprehend.
“It shall be a weapon that cuts no flesh, nor bones, or even life.”
Frisk continued to hammer away at the blade in front of her, it was long, longer than she was tall. It looked like a standard katana, but obviously still missing its guard, although she couldn't be quite sure. As it seemed like just looking at it would make it change its shape, revert, and then start all over again.
“I shall make a blade that can sever anything; Time, Bonds, and even Fate itself.”

Summary
“Peace, Child.”
“Peace?!” Chara shrieked, her voice sounding layered and echoed, as if others were trying to talk over her, “You went in my head! You rifled around in my memories! You committed one of the greatest sins of magic!”
The floating blades inched ever so closer.
“I should have your head.”
For all the threatening, accusing, and danger, Dr. Gaster seemed more unamused than anything resembling scared. In fact, he seemed almost to frown, contemplative, as he looked at Chara once more.
“You have experienced much, but I do not pity you,” he intoned, “the compromises you made, well, I suppose it would be correct to say that you’ve met with a terrible fate, haven’t you?”

Summary
Her heart pounded in her ears, and the world pitched, just as it had years ago.
She saw herself, draped in red chains and surrounded by black tar. As far as the eye could see, that was it, there was nothing else to behold, nothing to consider, only herself at the center of nothingness.
She was older, maybe closer to being an adult, with a haggard look on her face. This older version of herself turned, greeting her with matching eyes, and nodded.
“It is almost time for me to recreate my timeline again, this time… I will find the equilibrium,” she said, tone low and empty, “they won’t fade again. But you… your timeline doesn’t have this problem… hmm, interesting. Say, would you like to make a deal?”

Summary
Undyne stiffened during her explanation but opted to stare deep into her empty mug, instead of speaking up on what was bothering her. Frisk, on the other hand, looked contemplative more than anything else, “you know what family I’m a part of, don’t you?”
Chara leaned back in her chair, her gaze briefly flicking up to the second floor as she felt someone up there, more than likely their little lab friend, before actually answering her partner. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to, she just really didn’t like dealing with things she was unsure of. Although, this time, it didn’t seem like she had much of a choice; not with Frisk’s soft, pleading eyes boring into her.
She felt her face flush and coughed to clear the air, “there’s only one family with an accent like yours, and while I haven’t had the pleasure of meeting them since I was a child, I think I would remember a descendant of the Le Fay’s anywhere.”

Summary
“Mother and Father–”
“Your family was weak,” a voice scoffed, from above her, yet not at the same time, “do not waste my time as they did.”
“I can’t–”
“You will learn girl, no more of the coddling that you were raised with.”
Something within Frisk burned, something dark, incomplete, and altogether not quite sane. She turned, viewing the silhouettes against the burning home, and she could see herself; smaller, much younger, untouched by the Resets. But the other one, the man, the one who dragged her, was draped in smoke, completely unknowable to her eyes.
She had been through so many Resets by now, so many that she had forgotten life before the mountain, but… this was familiar.

Summary
He moved on from her, yet still kept careful watch, and moved to the girl in green. He barely skimmed the surface of her soul when he felt like he was looking into a lake. He could see nothing, no gleaming hints, or hidden truths, only his own failures staring him back in the face.
And then it happened; hands.
The hands of the damned, those he had killed and those that had died beside him, thrusting out from the lake, dragging him down, and down, and down…
They were laughing.
But then he was standing back in his bar, without having moved at all, looking directly into the red eyes of the girl in green as she twirled the cylinder in her hand. Instead of being empty, it now contained a gleaming crimson mist, silent and gruesome as it consumed all within.
“Have fun?” she asked, not breaking eye contact.
