Summary
It was clear to every person in the room that the differences were purely cosmetic. The newcomer wore glasses, his clothing more shapeless than baggy, his face was cleanshaven and his hair was parted with unflattering precision down the middle.
But the color of that hair, and the eyes behind the glasses, the shape of the face, the curve of the lips, the expressions of petty displeasure, were identical.
“You are unbelievable,” the stranger said. Joaquim rolled his eyes and gestured to him with barely-concealed distaste, slamming the door shut with a flick of his wrist.
“Ladies and gentlemen, because today wasn’t bad enough, my cousin Guillermo de la Cruz.”
-------
When there's a werewolf at large, what you really need is an expert hunter of the supernatural to save the day. Guillermo's experience is all in vampires, of course, but there's plenty of overlap. And sure, he and his cousin would rather eat glass than spend a night trapped in a room together, but he can still save the day. Right?Tonight, nothing will go as planned for anyone; tomorrow, no one in Beaverfield will ever be the same.
But hey, traumatized and changed forever beats out brutally murdered, every time.

Summary
Ellis was temporarily staying at the local inn, and it was a nice place to set up her workstation. It was on the upper floor and no one really bothered her aside from when Jeanine came in with coffee. Ellis was very grateful for Jeanine's occasional company, as the isolation did become lonely at times, but she was also grateful that she didn't stay for long. It was easier to focus when no one bothered her and she liked the quiet.
Today, though, it didn't matter how loud or quiet things were because Ellis' brain was focusing on every little sound and amplifying them in her head. It was so fucking loud even with the only real sounds being the muffled chatter of the TV downstairs, the wind, and the occasional whir of her equipment.
