Also, Matilda does not have magical powers in this version; I wanted this story to be more realistic than the original Matilda.

Mr. And Mrs. Wormwood are not the best parents—far from it, actually. Unfortunately, they also happen to be really dense and not realize their neglect for their daughter. It wasn't until Matilda asked to stay with Mrs. Honey that they realized they still want their kid. But when you've been terrible to your child their entire life, it isn't exactly a piece of cake to convince them you care. So after the two's pitiful begging, Matilda gives them a proposal. All they need to do is prove they're stable enough to care for her and their relationship. Easy right? wrong. Hopefully therapy solves all their problems.
