Sanji felt as the Sunny rocked gently atop the sea, just as it did most nights. With an island on the horizon, the occasional cry of seagulls pierced the night sky. The crew's soft snores echoed throughout the ship; Luffy mumbling about becoming King of the Pirates and, of course, meat. Chopper giggled in his sleep now and then, nuzzling closer to his pillow.
The faint clatter of Brook’s bones beneath his blanket had become an oddly comforting sound, while the dull thud of Franky’s metal arms hitting the floorboards was more annoying, but familiar. Usopp sometimes sat up mid-dream, declared something dramatic, then flopped back down with a snore.
Sanji knew all of these sounds by heart. They were as routine as his own nightly habit: struggling to fall asleep.

So, the WBP still sail under Ace, with Marco as loyal right hand. Newbies gather bc they're still an old name and come to mean safety in a way. Anyone of the the new ones freaks out when he sees the Thousand Sunny and the Freedom (Sabo's ship) sailing towards him, freaking out when none of the commanders are even slightly worried. They just jump on board and wtf is going on. He even sees them attacking the captain and he's so confused as to why no one is doing anything. When he freaks out, Marco starts laughing before telling them to let Ace up. The moment they're all lined up, it's clear why they're able to do that. The likeness and way of acting around each other more than showing xD The newbie apologizes but gets praised for looking out for Ace.

Zoro was quiet for a moment, watching the stars. "Yeah, well. Hard to laugh at someone else's dream when yours is just as crazy."

This was 1) inspired by the fell first fell harder trend cause I was thinking Luffy would do well as both and 2) it's inspired by this short story I read for one of my classes called "Happy Endings" by Margaret Atwood (it's very fun), which is where I got the idea for the different versions of the story! I hope you all enjoy!
