izuku and him pod were hurt and taken. he soon realized that they were only taken to get treated but his pod mate not his hatched one but the one he found couldn't be released. izuku and the permanently injured mers mate refused to leave him.

He stares at the creature, strange and new, and the creature stares back. Izuku’s gaze watches the rippling water as the creature goes under, moving closer to the sandy border between land and sea, and as if he has an epiphany, he runs towards the edge.
He falls on his knees, and the creature perks out their head entirely— white and red hair, dripping wet. Skin that was a light grey color, with black marks littering their skin. They were bigger than him, and Izuku wondered if they were older. The scales on their tail, which Izuku could barely, just barely, see were blue— and reflected on the setting sun.
Some would have called this creature a monster. But Izuku’s first thought was — amazing.
This was the most beautiful creature he's ever seen.
