Mike swallowed. “Just you.”
He turned — eyes hazy, but the expression in them too sharp to be just drunk. For a second, neither of them moved. The air between them shifted, charged again.
“You’ve really changed, Mike.”
“Good or bad?” he asked, though a part of him already knew the answer wouldn’t satisfy him.

Is it pathetic to be in love with someone for nine years without noticing? Yeah, probably. Most definitely. Is it pathetic to fall in love with the first friend you’ve ever made, the second after becoming friends with them? One hundred percent.

They were once two kids swinging happily through life, but now they need to fight for each other more than ever before.

Mike hated to look at Will. He reminded him of why he was such a failure, a disappointment, a horrible person and friend.
Will thought that maybe Mike loved to look at him, too.
Mike knew that if Will knew how disgusting he was, he'd hate to look at him, too.

Summary
Because Mike’s leaving, because he has to grow up eventually no matter how much he loves feeling like a teenager. Maybe he lost a bulk of his youth, but that’s his burden to bear; time doesn’t stop for anybody, no matter how much you feel like you’ve lost. Time’s a cruel master, and Mike knows that August will come faster than anyone would like. He should like it, but the thought of leaving twists his stomach in knots. It should be exciting to finally be free. Thinking about it makes him want to throw up.
So he won’t think about it, not tonight. He won’t always be there, no matter how badly he wants to, but Mike’s spent his whole life pretending, especially when it comes to Will. What’s another hour more? And so, he looks. He looks when he knows it’ll ruin everything, and he looks when he knows that Will wouldn’t mind at all. Two contradictory truths can coexist, after all. He looks surreptitiously, because he knows what would happen if either of them got caught looking.

Mike’s eyebrows shot up.
“Do you do it because you want to save me from all of this or do you really want to love me, Mike. I know you do not like to say it… or write it… so is this why? I am something or someone you wish to fix?” She gulped, her bottom lip quivering like this was an admittance she was worried he would say first and she had beaten him to it. Mike though just stayed silent, absolutely destroyed by the revelation she had come to.
“Please don’t tell me you’re serious,” he begged, his mouth ajar. “El, come on!”
“I do not know and that is why I am asking,” she snapped, lifting her free hand to her cheek to brush away the forming wet spots. “I am not a project. I am a person. Will is not a project either.”

Summary
Admittedly, there were times when Jonathan considered strangling Mike with a pillow case in his sleep. The amount of times he’d seen him obliviously decimate Will’s feelings while in his own little world was enough to warrant it.
Yet, Jonathan wouldn’t say he disliked the kid. He was just a kid, after all. He had watched as he endured years' worth of trauma, as he lost a best friend and then a girlfriend over the course of a couple weeks, as his best friend in the world got possessed and tormented by Vecna, as he was helpless to fight him and just tried to be supportive. He was just a kid, and he cared about Will as much as Jonathan did. How could he hate him, even if he was obnoxiously unaware of how his relationship with El hurt Will time and time again?

Mike can barely move, every muscle in his body pulled tight on the couch cushion he’s sharing with Will. Will’s stiff next to him, too, but just the barest bit more relaxed, sleepiness loosening his posture where it slumps against Mike’s.
Coarse fabric brushes against Mike’s other side, and he bristles, pushing closer to where Will is already practically glued to him, forcing him further into the arm of the chair.
“I’m not going to hurt you,” Will whispers – the other Will, the one sitting on his other side – and he says it so gently it sounds like he’s trying to keep from spooking a wild animal.
“We’re not going to hurt you,” the other Mike says from over the other Will’s shoulder, punctuated with an eye roll.
Mike knew the Upside Down was an alternate reality. He didn't think it meant there was an alternate him and Will.

“So. The church?” Miike asked.
“The church.” Will said firmly.
The building radiated with a sort of holy innocence, looking almost untouched and definitely out of place in the Upside Down. Will jiggled the front door handle and groaned. “Locked.” He thought for a moment. “Stand back, Mike.”
Mike did, watching Will back up a few feet. “What are you-”
Will began in a running start before throwing the weight of his body against the door with a bang. The door swung open but Will kept his balance, wincing. “That was loud. And kind of stupid.”
“Are you kidding me?” Mike stared at him in a sort of awe. “I’ve only ever seen people do that in movies. Holy shit. That was epic.”
“Oh shut up.” Will blushed. “It was nothing.” As they made their way into the church, Will took off his jacket, slinging it over his shoulder and stretching out his arm. Mike watched the muscles in his back strain against his t-shirt, his biceps and lats bulge from the simple stretch. Mike swallowed, hard.
“Hey, it’s not too bad in here.”

The sick that had been clawing its way up Mikes throat dropped with a sudden jolt of fear that felt like a cold hand tying a painful knot in his stomach, making him feel queasy and paralyzed.
A cool end of a pistol was placed at the bottom of his spine, slowly trailing it way up to upper back. His breath increased rapidly. Lips gently pressed against his ear and spoke rasping -
'Don't try anything like that again, you got that'

based off " believe me", purely to spread awareness! but with mike as the victim and showing how much things can change in a matter of seconds....this ofc will not be exactly accurate to the story and everyone is alive in this fic and mike has just turned 15 so in between s3 and s4 .
