Hasegawa Ken has always been able to see things right before they happen. Visions, are what he likes to call them.
Whether it's something small like a surprise pop quiz, or the traffic jam that'll happen right the next morning. It didn't affect his life all that much.. So he kept it to himself. Never daring to tell Mao or his parents. He didn't want to become a big celebrity off of it, especially since he doesn't control his 'visions'.
All of that changes when he gets put into a killing game.

The game’s creators, their wardens, wanted him to start thinking like that. They wanted him to be desperate, to cling to life with everything he had, even if it meant destroying somebody else’s.
Unfortunately for them, Kazutoshi had already learned long ago that the world hated him and wanted him dead, and that every single second spent defying that fate was him raising a massive middle finger at God. He had chosen to keep living out of spite, but he refused to do it through the terms set out by the killing game.
And that meant that if he wanted to experience any of those simple, lovely dreams, he was going to have to get everyone out of this alive.

It doesn’t matter how she felt about Nishiguchi, it doesn’t matter how much the other girl really genuinely cared about her, she had no choice but to turn her back on her. It was her best bet at surviving this hellhole, and no matter how horrifically shitty it makes her feel, she can’t allow herself to dwell on it. She didn’t have any other option. The Bleeding had forced her hand. She’s not a bad person.
At least, that’s what she has to tell herself. Over and over again, she has to justify it to herself. Because if she doesn’t, if she lets her regrets consume her, she may as well end up losing her goddamn mind.

If one day, you suddenly found out that after you die, you're able to go back in time to fix your mistakes, how would you feel? Confused? Scared? Ecstatic? After all, it's a great opportunity to improve your life, right?
Not to Hasegawa Ken, though. While he gained such ability, his death brought him back to the day he dreads the most, the day of him waking up on the laundry room floor of the fake school to participate in a killing game.
No matter what he does, he dies in the end. And he's back at the start. And he has no way of breaking the cycle.
