Toby comes home so bright. He walks into their cabin and flops onto his normal couch in the living room. Everyone is busy, no one notices it. They’re stressed and preparing for a mission this evening, and usually Toby would be tense and twitchy, itching to get the mission going. Tonight though? He cruises through the evening, eventually, the mission feels like it’s dragging because all he wants to do is go home and lay on the roof to think about all the pretty things he could put in Tani's hair(That was her name, right?). Everyone can feel it, no one knows who it’s from.
The mission ends early when the spirits are scared away (the energy of the lovers is growing too quick).
No one knows what happened, but they’re thankful. They go out to eat to celebrate.
Toby has no clue what he just doomed them to.

Tim absentmindedly fiddles with the cigarette between his fingers while staring at the lock screen of his phone.
He contemplates what his therapist had said in one of their sessions: “Grief is just love with no place to go.”
He repeats it in his head like a mantra as he opens his phone to call Jay. He expects to hear the ringing of his phone loop a few times, to be met with no answer, so he can leave yet another voicemail that won't be answered. And so he goes through his routine, but this time instead of ringing, he hears a click.
“...Hello?”
He immediately hangs up and stares at Jay's contact on his phone screen, stunned. It can't be Jay. Jay is dead. Tim's mind races as he tries to rationalize what just happened, mind grappling at random ideas. Did he imagine it? Was it a cruel prank? Did Jay's number get transferred to someone else?
..No. No, Jay's dead. He couldn't have possibly answered the phone. He just imagined it, that's all. He drops the cigarette and crushes it underneath his boot.
