“It’s fine.”
“No it’s not fine, Akutagawa! You don’t just cough up blood and then ignore it like it’s a normal occurrence!” Atsushi’s hands were now curled into fists, all but forgetting about the cloth in his hand as it drips clear, red-tinted liquid. Despite his yelling, his face returned to that look from before, almost looking concerned for Akutagawa. He couldn’t be though, that would be impossible and outright stupid.
“So what if I do? Why should you care? Didn’t you agree to fight me to the death in a few months? At least if you kill me then I won’t die to something as pathetic as this.” Akutagawa practically shouted before regretting both his words and his volume. The invisible claws returned, shredding the delicate tissue in his chest excruciatingly once more as he watched Atsushi’s face fall.
“...What?”

Gin calls Atsushi to help take care of Akutagawa while his condition worsens. Will Akutagawa keep pushing him away and rejecting his help, or will he let Atsushi finally get closer than arm’s length?

Because everything should be fine now- the threat is gone, the Agency is all alive and safe, and things are back to normal! Ergo, there should be nothing wrong.
But for some reason, tensions were rising. Yosano spiraling, Kunikida and Atsushi’s crisis, and whatever was going on with Dazai. The Agency refused to talk to each other as they used to, that synergy once there had been lost after the battle. Perhaps they used it all in the fight. Typically, these predicaments would either be healed over time or simply placed on the back burner, but now everything was off rhythm.
