Summary
Despite his attempts, Chimney's speech although rousing, failed. Buck transferred out of the 118. Eddie returned to El Paso with Chris.
It's been six years, and Eddie is back in L.A. Chris is gone, college bound and Eddie finds himself back in a place he had long forgotten to call home. Time had drifted them, meet ups became video calls, video calls became texts, then texts turned into a couple of birthday and Christmas wishes between most of them.
Buck and Eddie's friendship stilted after Bobby's death and Eddie's return to El Paso. Two different lives. Neither are sure what or who was to blame. Eddie still can't help but feel regret though, especially now he's been out and somewhat proud the past few years. But what happens when he catches up to Buck and sees where his own life took him?

Summary
"Buck," Eddie repeats slowly, "I need you to breathe for me."
"I have a daughter," Buck says, hands shaking. "I — I have to go to Hershey and —"
"Okay," Eddie tells him, so calm when Buck is losing it. "Hey, look at me. It's going to be fine. I'll call Chim."
"I'll get your plane tickets," Christopher decides, already up on his feet, ready to go to his room.
Or fourteen years ago, Buck had a daughter with his ex-girlfriend. After she passes away, he learns about her existence, and learns to deal with what being a teenager's father means. Luckily for him, he can count on his 118 family.

Summary
“Do you have kids?” Christopher asked, and Buck lost his breath momentarily.
He blinked, and Christopher was still looking at him. Eddie too, for that matter.
It’s just—no one’s ever asked him that, before. No one ever thought to, and.
It just caught him off guard.
[In high school, Buck was forced to go through a pregnancy he never wanted. He tells himself it's in the past, but it keeps seeming to circle back around on him when he least expects it.]

Summary
"It’s Dr. Wells.
The Dr. Wells Bobby had sent Buck to, over a year and a half ago.
The same one he couldn’t quite admit had taken advantage of him, had made him feel numb whenever he tried sharing his feelings, who made it impossible to open up to any other therapist—
She was there and she had a baby. A baby who couldn’t be more than ten months old. A baby with his blonde hair and bright blue eyes, not her dark hair and dark eyes."
or
Dr. Wells had a baby & never told Buck.

Summary
That’s his problem. Buck always manages to make the calls personal, even if they are so far behind his realm of reality. He always makes them about himself, he had been told this way too many times already. And he’s trying to change, he really is. But then there are moments like these in which a little girl needs saving and Buck blurs the line between what’s his job and his own need to be there for everyone he meets. His need to fix everything. So he stays there, just for that first surgery he keeps reminding himself, just to make sure she makes it out of the ER. Just to make sure Hen is right and she is in good hands. And a few hours later, when she makes it out and the doctor’s look around the waiting room for Cassie’s parents without all the context Buck already has, he stands up. On instinct. Barely even a lie. He couldn’t count it as one when he hadn’t spoken at all. He just stands up. He stands up and he follows the doctor to the ICU.
In which Buck worries about the little girl he just saved from a fire, and he gives her a home in his arms.

Summary
Whoever told Buck that excessively talking and narrating things to his baby would aid in her cognitive development is a bitch.
“I have to go to work today, so you’re gonna hang out with your Auntie Maddie because she has the day off, and then tomorrow morning after my shift you and I are gonna get breakfast with Eddie, so I’m packing your pink dress with the blue flowers because I think it’s very breakfasty. That’s not a word, though. Sometimes it’s okay to make up words for emphasis, but not all the time, okay?”
Evie thinks her dad is the most fascinating thing in the world and he would like to keep it that way, thank you very much. She stares and smiles at him while he talks, reacts to certain words like she’s starting to understand what they mean, claps her hands together when he says the names of her favorite people, it’s awesome.
However, Buck seems to have made one very grave mistake and in her very first act of spite against her dad, Evie will not let him live it down.
"Eddie!"
Or, narrating his entire life to his daughter started as a good idea until she decided to use her first word to out Buck’s big dumb crush on his best friend.

Actions has consequences.
What if Eddie didn’t just kick Buck out of his house, he also removed his guardianship over Christopher because how can he trust someone who let Bobby die to protect his son?
(He doesn't realized how his actions would have long term consequences to everyone involved.)

Summary
Evan takes a deep breath but keeps his tone quiet and his head down as he finally opens up about what’s really going on. “Mom and Dad hurt me.” He says it quickly, hoping his sister will overlook the new information. Her eyes blink rapidly, fighting back tears at what her brother is revealing. “What do you mean they hurt you?" Still avoiding eye contact, he elaborates, “Do you remember when you came home from your friend's house and I had a black eye and a bloody nose?” She answers, "Yes,” before Evan continues. “I told you I got it because I fell off my skateboard, but it was because of Dad..."
Or...
A story of Evan going through different trials of his life and finding a family that sticks.

Summary
Buck’s first shift back at the 118 after the lawsuit was nothing like he’d imagined and Buck wasn't sure how he'd bridge the sudden distance between him and his team. But the disappointment of their brush-off was eclipsed when he came home from that first shift to find an old flame waiting on his doorstep with a choice that was really no choice at all. Buck had no idea how to be a dad, especially without the help of the people he'd come to think of as his family, but he was determined to figure it out; and maybe figure out some things about himself along the way.
