Pain, that was all Blake could feel when she woke up in the hospital. Damnit, why, why did he have to chase her, why couldn’t he leave her alone, why does she bring her demons with her everywhere, why does she hurt everyone she cares about. She ruined Yang’s life, her own partner, somebody whose life she cared about more than her own, she couldn’t take knowing she was responsible for killing the brightest light in her life. It’d be kinda a jerk move to bail on them in their time of need, don’t you think? Sun sure seemed to think so, cause he’d be damned if he let Blake just leave.

Heartache was the purest form of torture, he thinks to himself, watching his nieces in their quiet suffering. They're two very different forms of heartache, but heartache nonetheless. He doesn't know how to fix this (he can't and he knows that and it's why he quietly watches and offers his support where he can).
