People have always been afraid of change and those who are different, and people do awful things when they are afraid. But if people are scared, it’s because that change is occurring. It’s because they are listening, and they recognize that progress is inevitably on the horizon.

I immediately fell in love with Undercover Princess and pre ordered Princess in Practice as soon as I could. I screamed when it arrived a day early. And, to be honest, I’ve screamed each time a new Rosewood Chronicles book has been delivered to my house.

this is my story with lottie’s motto!
TRIGGER WARNING FOR MENTION OF ED, and MENTION OF HOSPITALISATION FOR AN EATING DISORDER
pls don’t read my lil essay about lottie’s mantra if you’d find mention of hospitals or eating disorders triggering. look after yourself !
okay, this is just nonsense and not really a fic but i thought it was the best way for me to celebrate lottie’s mantra

Summary
In my mind, the only way I could be a person worthy of anything was to be like the people who’d hurt me, the people who’d pushed me down enough that I’d attempted several times to take my own life. In my mind, the only way I could survive in this world was to be like them. Because they weren’t the collateral damage. They weren’t thinking about a broken relationship half a decade later. They weren’t the ones waking up in the middle of the night panicking that their bedroom door was open when they remembered closing it.
They were safe because they established safety through attack rather than defense.

Dr. Ashwini Ray’s Guide to People & Artificial Consciousness by At_dawn_you_find_me

Summary
Abstract: Humans will try countless remedies to counter loneliness, they will invent imaginary friends, form attachments to objects like blankets and teddy bears, create book clubs and knitting clubs, sing-up for dancing and cooking classes, put on a mask and re-shape their personality just to fit in. Look at the stars and wonder: “Is there anyone there?” “Why hasn’t anyone come and say hi to us?”.
Personally, I write fanfiction.
Key words: Fan fiction, Loneliness, Humanity, Philosophy, Fiction, Artificial Consciousness, Space.
Ray, Ashwini. 2099. "Fanfiction, Qualia and Observations about consciousness". In "Over a century of fanfiction. What is all about?" compiled by The Creatives Collective, Free Hole Amanda. Published at the Archive of Transformative Works.

Silver Haired Agito: Transformation Narrative as Transmasculine Allegory by AgitoForestspirit
Fandoms: 銀色の髪のアギト | Giniro no Kami no Agito | Origin: Spirits of the Past (2006)

Summary
Meta analysis essay about Agito’s character arc interpreted as trans allegory and exploration of possible subtext in the movie. Transformative exploration into the movie’s themes through a queer lens, mainly revolving around Agito. Includes some summary and lots of spoilers. I’m approaching this from my perspective as a trans guy and how this character has meant a lot to me personally
The essay is written on the assumption the reader hasn’t seen the movie so if you have there are bits of this you can skim.

Summary
“These days, I am of the opinion that to be healed isn’t to be cured, but rather to develop the ability to live alongside the most intolerable parts of one’s mind. Recovery is a survival tactic, though less fire-without-flint and more lizard-dropping-tail. Primed for violence, the traumatised mind does this, gives you these frantic, immovable highs and lows. And so my Celebrían is at her baddest on the days darkness spreads thickest. She is at her maddest on the days I walk barefoot across beaches and at her saddest when I sink into myself. She reintroduces me to my own mind.”
An extended edition of my essay for Tolkien Meta Week: on autofiction, archives, healing, and why I moved across the country after finding out Elrond had a wife.

Summary
Sex is an inherently vulnerable act. It requires some kind of opening of oneself, physically: open arms, open hands, an open mouth, open legs. The physical is always linked with the emotional. It’s vulnerable to say "yes". To give voice to a desire is to jump off a cliff trusting that someone will be there to catch you. And fuck you, if you’re lucky.
The opening - the revealing - enhances the shared pleasure that follows. There's an intense connection in shared pleasure. I’ve felt it deeply, many times. But I’d argue that while there's a unique closeness that blooms with letting someone see you come, there’s an even deeper intimacy in letting someone see you cry.
