Opening Crawl:The dead speak! The galaxy has heard a mysterious broadcast, a threat of REVENGE in the sinister voice of the late EMPEROR PALPATINE, for some reason.
GENERAL LEIA ORGANA dispatches secret agents to gather intelligence, while REY, the last hope of the Jedi, trains for battle against the diabolical FIRST ORDER, and tries not to think about KYLO REN.

The Force has been connecting Kylo and Rey for over a year now through their Bond, however, during that time, Rey has repeatedly either blocked Kylo from getting through to her or denied her feelings for him. The one thing that provokes her into action for Kylo is when the Force gives her a vision of Kylo lying nearly dead on the ground after his ship crashes. He is severely injured and there are hostile life forms all around him, yet he is too weak to do anything about it. Though she is hesitant to be involved with him due to his use of the Dark Side of the Force, and being the Supreme Leader, she also does not want to lose the other half of herself, the other half of their Dyad. She locates where he is and saves his life. Their love grows from there.
