Summary
A chain of unexpected events strands Pomni and Gummigoo. With no sign of immediate rescue, the two new friends set out to find the circus themselves, briefly stopping in Gummigoo’s supposedly non-existent village. The stay ends up longer than anticipated.
It's just one part of a world crammed full of bank heists, saloon brawls, marshmallow six-shooters and dodgy mine hideouts, toffee trains, candied ocean liners and the occasional vicious gumdropbear, all dripping with literal sugarcoating that keeps the family-unfriendly implications around a PG rating. Most of the time.
Pomni is tempted by the freedom to redefine herself and escape Caine’s presumed railroaded adventures. For Gummigoo, the map is painfully familiar yet absolutely alien, raising questions that he and Pomni might not be able to really answer. As time passes, the friends find the map, themselves, and their relationship changing for better and possibly worse.
Unable to summon Pomni back, Caine insists to the rest of the Circus that long-term entrapment in an adventure won’t cause lasting harm to either program or its participants. It’s soon apparent that even the A.I. ringmaster cannot anticipate the consequences hurtling towards them.

"If you end up alone, what will you do about that?" Pomni asks.
"I'll pay you no mind unless you're a good tool in the moment. I'll use you. Forget it ever happned. Rinse and repeat. Just like always," he explains.
"That's not what you did, though," she mutters under her breath like she's praying something will hear her and drill it into Jax's head on her behalf. "That's not what you did."

After their fallout, Pomni notices Jax is struggling and isolating himself more. Every attempt to approach him just leads to encounters with increasingly concerning behaviors.
The two, after running into each other, accidentally find a certain, unknown bug in this purgatory game. What appears to have just been visual actually caused them to find something that gave them a lot more control than they used to.

Jax and Pomni glitch themselves into a discovery by pure chance. They agree to keep it a secret until they can fully understand its purpose.
This only ends up showing Pomni first-hand the true state of a certain someone's mental wellbeing, and just how willing they are to do something drastic.

Caine has a lovely plan on how to fix Jax: lock the real Jax away, replace him with an improved AI copy that is convinced to be the real Jax and directly broadcast all interactions Jaxx0.2ai has with the others to human Jax as some sort of training program. What could possibly go wrong? The friends at the circus can’t stop Caine and have to play along. And hoo boi - this AI copy is nothing like Evil!Jax. Pomni and Ragatha seem to be the only circus members that worry about the real Jax. Will he just abstract alone in his prison or drown them all in the digital lake as soon as Caine lets him out? Maybe Jax can’t be fixed but there's a chance the others will grow as a side effect of this insane project …

Caine found out about the concept of nightmares and as a test run puts one into Pomni's digital brain but what he doesn't realise is that he may have went to far by making it about her worst fear... losing her bunny. This angers a said bunny.

Pomni has a nightmare and Jax helps her before blowing up on Caine for not thinking about the consequences to his actions. The other circus members raise an eyebrow at his protectiveness of Pomni who initially he had claimed to not care about.
