Summary
The renegade trio have continued to travel through the cosmos, but something has finally snapped in Kevran, and he is finally ready to face the truth of what pushed him off Gallifrey to begin with. However, the ship is low on fuel, and before they can make their final journey to unlock the answers of Epoch, Kevran needs to make a brief stop on the peaceful planet of Phaidon, home to the pacifist Warpsmiths.
Unbeknownst to the Phaidonians, nor the Gallifreyan arrivals, somewhere deep in the Phaidonian system sits a dead ship. This derelict seems to be nothing but an empty vessel of a previous age; however, an itch at the back of Kevran's mind screams for him to consider the possibilities it provides. Going against his usual nature, Kevran finds that the future of the pacifistic Warpsmiths is in jeopardy, and he may very well be the only hope they have to see another day.

Summary
All is not well in the Capitol. The High Council is divided into political factions, unable to come to a final decision on whether the task force created to investigate Valyss' death should be maintained, strengthened, or entirely disbanded. With the Lady President choosing not to take sides until the fence becomes uncomfortable to sit upon, the High Councillors find the arguing both time-consuming and distracting from more important matters.
It becomes quickly clear that the killer's motivations are not yet done with, as yet another attack is launched against Gallifrey's political elite. But something has changed this time. Spencer squints painfully at the ceiling, which is currently washed in morning light, without her consent. "Why are my curtains open, COdE?" She groans, turning over in her bed. COdE is a stupid name for a computer. What it stands for is worse.
"Performance analysis shows that, with your curtains closed, Spencer, your productivity is reduced by 14%."
Spencer groans louder. "If you want to wake me up, try shoving ice down my shirt, okay?"

Summary
A member of the High Council has been killed. This was no accident; it was an assassination. The upper elites of Gallifrey have been shaken by this event, but none more so than Siri.
A full-scale investigation pulls Kevran in as part of the Panopticon Archive's research team. His duty, during this investigation, is to do exactly what he is told by Zigawatali in order to find relevant information deep within the shelves of the Archive that could hint at the motive for such a hideous and public crime. However, in typical Kevran fashion, his curiosity overcomes him, and he finds himself digging into more than just a politician's murder.
There is something more to this assassination, and Kevran is determined to discover it...
