Summary
Vel is flying. The wind rushes past him, whipping his blond hair behind his head. The feeling of air gliding over his bare arms is exhilarating, caressing the skin of his back and catching lightly on the pin prick scars left by turns of a barely tame green firelizard clinging to his back and shoulders. The metal bar piercing through the top of his ear and the two rings hugging either side of his lower lip burn with cold generated by the chill air whistling past his head and over his shoulders. Far behind, males scrabble to catch up, straining to reach the glory of midnight that flashes through the sky above them.
Please note: This is from a Dragonriders of Pern MUSH that was started in the late 90's, with permission from Anne herself. Some things are not completely canon, according to the books. The game has evolved over the years. We have some modern technology, including piercings, tattoos, computers, and plastics.
