Summary
Evie Hardy was undeniably a product of the love of his parents, Alec and Tess. However, after an irrevocable incident in their marriage, divorce ensued, in hopes of avoiding further pain and protecting their child from things she wouldn't understand yet. The kid remained with her mother in Sandbrook, since both parents believed the process of moving and changing schools would be damaging and hard to process for her. Since then, the few contact Evie had with her father were the silly birthday cards he never failed to send her, and diverse idle voice messages he left for her the few times a year he found a moment for it, outside of his work.
However, the 11th of August of 2014 at around 20:33 Alec found a text message on his phone. It was from Tess, and contained the following fragment:
"I'm sending you Evelyn. She's on the bus to Broadchurch with a suitcase. You know I wouldn't ask you this if we didn't need it but you need to put some sense into her. Her depression must be worsening so bad she now believes she's a boy."
