“Ah, well Tara, Yrelia isn’t just a friend,” he said with that sweet smile of his. He took her hand and held it tightly. “No, in fact, she is much, much more than that. She is my fiancée.”
Tara’s gaze flitted between Gale and Yrelia. “Interesting,” she said. “You leave for months and return to me saying you’re engaged. You didn’t think to mention this relationship when we saw each other in Baldur’s Gate?” She flew over to Gale. “I swear, Mister Dekarios, you never cease to amaze me.”

Summary
This is the story of Raela Fairfield, a custom (Tav) character whom I played in Baldur's Gate 3. She is a half wood elf Gloomstalker Ranger/Assassin Rogue, with the Urchin background, whose major romance was with Karlach, with secondary romance arcs with Astarion and Halsin, and whose overall alignment throughout the game could best be described as Neutral Good. Following completion of the BG3 story, she chose to go to Avernus with Karlach and Wyll to try to fix Karlach's heart.
The work is a blend of my own original writing and scenes heavily drawn from in-game cutscenes (with minor modifications and interpretations of my own) and is intended purely for entertainment purposes under Fair Use guidelines. Major credit and thanks to the creators at Larian Studios for their excellent work. Hope you enjoy! -

Fyrsilon is a ranger; their pod-twin, Fyra, a necromancer. Yet it is Fyrsilon who finds themself followed everywhere they go by ghostly companions instead of living ones.
NB: I always found it interesting that rangers can control treant ghosts, and necromancers can control living shrimp and insects. This fic is inspired by that duality.

On the fifth night of their involuntary tadpole misadventure together, Monster Hunter Inara (Tav) clashes with the realm's most obvious vampire when he tries to take a clandestine bite of her. But as with every plan Astarion had come up in his unlife so far, it contains one step only. So what if this gremlin vampire cat actually is forced to face and deal with the consequences of his bite-y actions? Chaos and hilarity ensues, of course.
Or, tfw Astarion has slurped up the only person in camp willing to help him in spite of his vampie... everything, and now has to find a way to bring Inara back. Ideally before the others in camp wake up and bring out the stakes and torches.
A character-focused, introspective version of Bite Night and its events beyond with its serial numbers filed off, because canon is just a guideline anyway, and thus goes way beyond the mere scene. Because perhaps in between the hunger, flailing, misconceptions and bickering a first understanding between Inara and Astarion can be gained. One that actually transcended lifetimes.
Rating is for Chapter 1 only. Everything else is SFW.

Summary

The only thing keeping her going is to hunt down her master and return the favor. No force of nature will be able to stop her from diving into a blood-driven path full of vengeance, or so she believes. However, when she catches the eyes of the Villains and Rangers, she will be followed and pelted with questions.
Will someone be willing to save her from the cold path of a killer and help her move on? Or will the need for revenge consume her? A fate so obscured that no one will be able to predict which side she will take.

‘Why?’ He wiped his beard down cleanly and precisely with an embroidered handkerchief. A drop of water ran down his chest, past the scars of the orb and soaked into his nightgown. It was still white in places, but mostly it was red, brown and yellow; stuck stiffly to his shaking knees. ‘Never better.’

The Orb is worse. Gale learns that the mute silk-farming drow he’s travelling with has knowledge of ancient Netherese magic but his attempt at finding a way for them to communicate properly fails. At every trance the drow's past creeps alongside him, becoming realer. The wreckage of Netheril binds them both. Can they escape? Will it be worth it?
