Shepard never really knew how she ended up in N-school in the first place. Well, she has a vague idea it had to do with her ridiculously high combat aptitude scores, but since she was still figuring out how military life (and space life in general) worked, she never bothered to find out who recommended her for ICT.
And N-school is a bitch. Somehow she manages to say and do the wrong thing all the time, and it sometimes feels like her existence alone pisses people off. Every designation is harder than the last, and that's without trying to figure out all the people around her. But it's the lessons from N-school, soon followed by the Skyllian Blitz, that form the foundation of who the infamous Commander Shepard turns out to be.

“I'll never get over how beautiful this is,” Shepard sighed.
She was talking about the Citadel, he knew that. An emotion lodged in his throat that he wasn’t sure he could say out loud yet. The emotion that always fluttered and festered when it came to her. How she was the one person he always had on his mind, since they were both seventeen and musing about travelling through the stars outside Arcturus.
“Me either,” Joker said softly, and it was no lie.
But he wasn't looking at the Citadel.

Whether or not she can learn to trust them to do so is another question, especially when a certain turian likes to relentlessly take up free real estate in her head.

Just because someone is a good guy does not mean they are a nice guy. Cold, calculating and brutal. Logan follows his own code which is "The punishment must fit the crime". The only question is the galaxy ready for a human Spectre with his own form of brutal justice?
Later tags to be added, I don't want to give too much away. If you are after Pure smut look elsewhere, while this does have sex scenes in it, it is not the main basis of the story. The rating is what it is as I don't want to get into trouble for some of the war scenes

Commander Shepard has a predatory glint in her eyes, and her smiles bare more of her teeth than those of the other humans on the ship. He wonders if she is unusual in that regard, or if the rest of them are simply showing deference to her. The second wouldn’t surprise him. The Tank murmurs about humans and their fragility, but Shepard is a force of nature. He sees the way she charges into battle, a flurry of biotics and rage, and even the Tank hums in approval. She shouldn’t be able to wield so much power, yet she does."
