It was already 9:00 p.m. when Michael, who usually came home much earlier, made his entrance. Something in his attitude was different. Instead of the usual brusqueness and disregard for the rules of the house, he seemed to be enveloped in a kind of calm. He ignored Dad, who was in the living room, and headed straight for him and Elizabeth.
Evan's surprise was total when his brother, with an expression that was halfway between despair and tenderness, hugged them both. It wasn't the kind of gesture she would expect from him, much less after having seen him tease her with that unpleasant mask.
From the corner of the room, William, the boys' father, watched the scene with a mixture of surprise and confusion. The way his eldest son had behaved, the abrupt change in his behavior, and the way he was clinging to his brothers, all of that was a mystery to him. He stopped his reprimand to watch, wondering what had caused such a transformation in his son. The question was drawn in his mind: What had happened for his stupid son to change? Was it a simple emotional reaction, or was there something deeper behind this sudden change?

Late teenage Michael Afton and Jeremy Fitzgerald discover a deeper relationship with each other as the earliest events of the Five Night's at Freddy's storyline takes place. This follows their relationship from before '83 until the late future. Mostly fluff and one-shots but also related to actual plot points throughout the series.

The one in the Bonnie mask cackled. “Oh my god, that's perfect.” Then, turning to Evan, with that empty look in his eyes, “You're gonna love it, little man.”
They were all smiling now. To anyone else, the smiles would've been friendly. But Evan knew them. He knew just how much danger he was in.
The alarm bells in his mind blared.
When Michael isn't looking, his friends torment his little brother.
He isn't sure he's felt this angry in his life.

Taking the cigarette from him, William sighed and lit his, taking a deep drag as he allowed the poisonous substance take over his mind, seemingly somewhat more relaxed by it than before.
Michael's fingers just dangled the cigarette, not bothering to ask for a lighter as he recalled the previous events of the day, horrified still by it all.His father could only smile, dropping the lighter he used on the ground for Michael to light his little 'candy stick', the tobacco's smoke now more apparent in the room.
He then retorted to a scoff, saying, "No need for the act. I've seen you smoke behind the school plenty."

Very VERY not canon compliant- I made this AU a longggg time ago, based on old theories that have since been proven wrong (ie. Michael Afton/Schmidt = Crying Child, etc) and have only been adding and altering slightly- I like to think it's not too far off from canon though- aside from the fact that Henry + William's "Good Guy vs Bad Guy" schtick has been swapped - just hear me out I promise this slaps 🙏
Also please read the notes 🙏 they provide important TWs and AU info to help the story make sense.
