A mistake. One that could've been considered small in the moment, but one that ruined him nonetheless. A few drinks wouldn't hurt anyone, and it seemed fun at the moment. He didn't realize how bad of an idea it would turn out to be.
His mind in a mush, Rocket couldn't help but goof around. Using his gear was second nature to him, he'd grown from the mistakes of his past. What could go wrong? He was quite literally born knowing how to wield it.
With the force of a reckless blast, he felt himself flying. Not in the sense that he had wings, or that he was levitating- no, he was falling. It would be an injustice to say that he simply hit his head. He felt himself hit the wall, and he felt the pain that came with it.
He awoke in the hospital. His memories were slipping out of his grasp, and his surroundings were far too bright. A foggy brain could prove to be more than just a mild discomfort in the right situation.
His memories would uncover themselves in due time, but he will never be the same as he once was.
(THIS IS NOT JUST AN AMNESIA FIC.)
