Summary
In the end, the very end, LB did not take Hitch out of the steel coffin that had caged him for two weeks. Zuko, in his flight leathers and cockpit helmet that was as familiar to Hitch as his husband’s loving smile, did not save Hitch. Nor did Ruby, and her dojo karate moves or secret gadgets or child prodigy plans.
Alternate Hitch POV where he is held captive and tortured for Spectrum intelligence. With a cyanide-laced molar in his mouth as a last resort, and diminishing hope of Spectrum ever coming to get him, he is faced with a difficult choice: his own life, or the safety of the few loved ones he calls family?

The Little Green Diner was the largest eating establishment that Little Mountain Side had to boast about, just down the street from the Daily Supplies shop that Mo Loveday had once worked at, and across the square from the little flat above the barbers’ that he had called home for ten years, and around the corner from the cafe that Hitch had idly stirred a mug of coffee when Bradley Baker, long-dead and long having forgotten everything about him, walked through the door. Hitch had tried not to think about it during his car journey, a losing battle fought every time he had to retrace the mountain roads that unspooled ten years earlier to the crash-site where Bradley Baker’s shooting-star plane had crashed in the frozen wilderness, and where Mo Loveday had walked out nearly unharmed, save for the massive head trauma.

It's April 1974 and the 19th Annual Eurovision Song Contest is due to begin in Brighton, England.
In the fear that the Soviet Union will sabotage the contest to undermine the power of Europe and descend the world into World War 3, Ruby Redfort is given her mission: to go undercover at the biggest music competition on Earth and decipher the code before hidden operatives can act.
With time running out, she must act quickly to solve the code and save lives, all to the soundtrack of ABBA's hit single Waterloo.

Six months ago, Bradley Baker returned from the dead and passed the Captain America shield on to Ruby Redfort, SPECTRUM's new recently-turned-super-soldier code breaking agent. Juggling her combat training, her trigonometry homework and a genetically enhaced metabolism that causes doughnut cravings isn't easy when SPECTRUM sends her halfway across the country to clear old SPIDR bases of scheming villains and old men who believe that superheroes should look like how they used to in black-and-white misogynistic movies.
Kid America, her trusted human sidekick, her guy in the chair and Froghorn travel to check out a West Virginia military base for SPIDR activity and get a lot more than they bargained for.
None of them expect to bring the Mothman back to SPECTRUM with them.

The catacombs were near pitch black. Claudia had said that there used to be skylights and oil-lamps in the 2nd century, but these skylights had been shored up somehow and the only light came from super-long-life torches held in what had once been oil-lamp holders. These shone a sickly dim light that almost looked no different to having her eyes closed. This was great news in Ruby knowing where she was going: always towards the light at the end of the very dark, very uneven, very cold tunnel. This was terrible news in that Ruby was in the easiest to access area of the ‘combs and the grave-robbers could find her any moment.

Spectrum is approached by Harvard University to help translate a newly discovered fresco in Turkey. The only downside is that that fresco is some ten metres below any reasonable super spy's feet. However, when Ruby and Hitch find the catacombs, they realise not all is what it seems, and something much more dangerous is going on in the sprawling tombs. Alone in the dark, Ruby has to find her way out of the labyrinthe without ending up deader than the skeletons chilling alongside her.--Now with the most perfect art by Kitty a.k.a. @agentredfort on Tumblr!
