Neil sat on the bleachers of his small town high-school. Smoke curled in the air from his lit cigarette. The faint scent of the ocean lingering as he sucked in a deep breath of the air around him. His mother's body was a fresh scent in his mind, as if his own mind had decided to mimic it and project it out to the world. Could he do that? He certainly hoped not. Neil sighed against the cloud of smoke.
She'd have lost her mind, if she saw him now. Sitting on the bleachers of a rundown exy stadium. She'd probably have beat him black and blue fearing he'd finally lost it.
The sound of a door shutting had Neil's heart dropping to his ass before reluctantly coming back up. His head snapped sharply towards the offending noise before his gaze settled on Coach Hernandez.
