Cuando Hajime pierde a sus padres, es enviado a varios orfanatos donde intentan ayudarlo a superar su trágica pérdida. A pesar de los esfuerzos de quienes lo rodean, no logra aceptar que nada de lo ocurrido fue su culpa y que, incluso después de todo, merece una vida feliz.
