“What the fuck, Malfoy?” Ron bellowed. “Stop kissing her.” He rounded on Hermione then, his face screwed up in outrage and confusion. “What did you do that for?”
Dazed, Hermione blinked at him, absently thinking he looked a bit like a gaping fish.
“Oh,” Malfoy smirked. “I do apologize. I spent the summer at our French Chateau and kissing is a customary greeting in France.” He didn’t look remotely repentant.
“I didn’t see you kissing anyone else like that,” Ron spat bitterly, still eyeing Hermione suspiciously.
“Hm?” Malfoy asked, distracted, still looking at Hermione, his knuckles brushing her cheek.
Hermione felt hot all over.

Malfoy’s glare was full of fury as he sneered, “Don’t you think it’s a little late to ask about my favourites?” His eyes burned with anger as if he were still that offended child from first year, the one who's outstretched hand of friendship had been rejected by Harry.
~Harry would discover later that evening in detention, deep in the Forbidden Forest amid a cluster of Deadly Red blossoms beneath the canopy of an ancient oak tree, that Draco’s favorite color, contrary to what one might expect of any true Slytherin, was not in fact the iconic Slytherin green—but a different shade of green entirely.

“Draco, you don’t have to act like that.” Theo hissed a bit upset by Draco’s snarky attitude.
Hermione brushed herself off. “It’s fine, Nott. Let’s just get through this maze and move on.”
Theo frowned, rubbing his temple. The three of them were on the move again. The familiar sounds of owls hooting echoed in the woods. “You are so damn stubborn,” Theo spoke harshly.
“It’s not like she’s happy about this arrangement either.” Draco snapped.
“I can hear both of you. It’s fine. The goal is just to get through the maze alive.” Hermione spoke annoyed at the situation. The three went quiet again before Hermione spoke up. “We're lost.”
Theo looked back at her, puzzled. “Why do you say that?”
“Because that’s the spot I was grabbed at.” Hermione pointed at the ground that had been disturbed and her pant leg that had been left on the ground.
