This is my first fic, so be kind! Writing a fic was inspired by Sen, after reading Manacled. This has nods to and roots in Before Sunrise, Valley Girl, Vanilla Sky, Romeo and Juliet, Spuffy and some of my own experiences. Also a love letter to Colorado and my SO.
I researched the political/security/debate parts of this in-depth...I did my best.

Checking for witnesses, the poor little prude. “I believe we’re as alone as can be expected here.” Just a whisper, more to himself than Astarion. Gale paced forward, eyes bright in his face; he stopped an arm length away. Astarion wondered if the man wanted a bit of play, a bit of an attempt at innocence, or if he wanted Astarion to make the first move, to throw himself at his brave, strong savior.
While he pondered that, Gale spoke. “I must admit, for all my skill in the arcane, all my abilities in my field of magic, I have unfortunately always been somewhat lacking in social graces. For that reason, I’m at a loss on how to bring about this subject with any finesse.” Gale rubbed at his well trimmed beard.
