"Always knew you cared," Booker slurs. "You don't need to save everyone, Andy."
Andy takes one breath in, then lets it out. She doesn't dignify Booker with a response. She picks him up instead, one arm beneath his shoulders and the other beneath his knees, avoiding his injuries as much as possible.
Quỳnh struggles to her feet, then takes a step forward.
"You'll hurt yourself more, walking," Andy tells her.
That's how she ends up carrying them both out, both breathing. She's desperate, in a way that she so rarely is. She feels like a wounded prey animal, despite being the only uninjured person here.

The house is achingly quiet once the two older men retreat to the back room—only the soft whistling of wind outside and the rattling of the window panes to fill the silence—and Andromache turns her full attention to the man in front of her. "I'm going to help you get undressed," she murmurs, easing the blanket off his shoulders. "And then I'll help you clean up." Andromache offers the man a gentle smile. "But before I do that, it would really help if you could tell me your name."
The man blinks, eyes going glassy, and a shuddering exhale spills from his mouth. "Sé…Sébastien…" he croaks, voice dry and cracking from disuse.
A breath of relief rushes into Andromache's lungs and her smile widens. "It's good to finally meet you, Sébastien."
When they finally track down the newest immortal, Andromache finds that getting him back from the darkness might be harder than she thought.

The mattress sinks as he sits beside her but Andy can't bring herself to look at her husband when he kisses the crown of her head. “I don’t know what I’m doing wrong,” she mumbles, her throat so tight that Andy’s not sure how the words even come out. “Théo and I used to be so close and now he won’t even let me kiss him goodnight.”
As Théo begins to heal from his trauma, cracks appear in his relationship with Andy. But when a sudden revelation gives her insight into what's holding him back, she has to learn how to wait for the best to come.

A grin tugs at her lips before she leans in and kisses him on the cheek, Booker all but melting under her touch. "You've got three kids under 5, Book. I'm not expecting your house to look like a museum," she says, punching his shoulder gently. "I'm just glad you finally stopped acting like a hermit."
After his wife up and left him and their boys a year ago, Booker couldn't help but start retreating inward. What he didn't expect was for Andy to break that shell open in the simplest way possible.
