Summary
Astarion is a beautiful and young bachelor in the city of Baldur's Gate, something many people--including the famed constable Cazador Szarr--seek to claim for themselves. Despite all of this attention though, headstrong Astarion is focused on a singular task: his studies of magic under the master Gale Dekarios. Deep down he wishes for something more adventurous, less provincial, especially as Cazador's advances begin to grow increasingly aggressive. He just might get what he wishes for and more though, when Gale Dekarios disappears along the cursed land near the abandoned Moonrise Towers. It isn't long before Astarion comes face to face with the beast that lives there in order to save his beloved teacher, all to find that the monster may not be all that he appears.

The clearing buzzed with activity, laughter, clanging tools, a dozen voices overlapping in requests and half-formed questions. Leto stood in the center of it all, the eye of the storm, her jaw tight and her eyes darting between tasks. One hand gripped her ledger, the other kept brushing hair out of her face in restless, agitated motions. She hadn’t sat down all morning, hadn’t eaten, hadn’t even touched the tea Meg had pushed into her hands an hour ago.
Her answers were shorter now. Crisper. She was still smiling, still sweet, but it was a blade-thin thing, too bright and too tight.
Halsin had been watching from a distance, not hovering, but always near enough to step in if she stumbled. And she was starting to stumble. He stepped closer with a steady calm, voice low and teasing in the way that usually made her roll her eyes and smile.Series

Their life wasn’t as chaotic as she had initially believed. Caring for multiple children was exhausting, yet deeply rewarding. They were eager learners, constantly seeking new knowledge and asking her to teach them things to impress Daddy Halsin, the leader of their unusual community. She enjoyed her time with the other women in the community, learning how to sew and knit while training them at sword fighting and teaching them how to take care of the land they were living on, following some of Father Oak's teachings. Leto also loved her “me time” where she dedicated herself to refine her druid magic and her connections with Silvanus, sometimes forgetting to take breaks for eating something and keeping herself hydrated. She wasn’t used to it, always finding herself too immersed in her tasks to even feel the need to drink water or feed herself, her body never told her when to stop, too focused on the task at hand rather than her wellbeing. That was one of those days and Halsin was more than ready to help his lovely robin, his personal mission to keep her balanced more and more rooted in his soul.

Leto’s hair was tied in a high ponytail, something he had seen her do rarely, only in moments she needed to be focused, like when they were planning the assault on Moonrise Tower with Jaheira and her Harpers. On that occasion he noticed a tiny birthmark on the base of her neck that was usually hidden under that fierce mane of flaming hair. He had to gather all his forces not to lean closer and kiss it. He could not fool himself any more: he was attracted to that human girl that entered his life as a chaotic tornado of colors and laughs, the young druid that was wiser than him yet had the same enthusiasm of a child when seeing the first snow falling.

"Yes." It was a lie, because nothing would ever be too much when it came to the Dark Urge. His body had been peeled opened and stitched back together. He'd been cored into and left to bleed and done the same -if not worse- to others. He deserved to be left wanting. "Yes, yes I'll tell you."
Halsin did not seem wholly convinced, but Dark pulled him into another kiss, slower this time, as Halsin liked it. Little teeth, no biting to the point of drawing blood and needing stitches. He would be good in this moment. He would follow Halsin's lead in this, and after, to the Shadowlands, where he would help raise a thousand orphans he did not care for, and bring peace to cursed soil that he could not bring to himself.
