    Summary

Light wakes him- a glow behind his eyelids, and Odysseus cracks his eyes open with a wince. They feel tacky- reluctant to open, like a muscle that hasn’t been used for a long time.

He shifts, rolls his head back to look up- finds a figure, twice the size of a man perched on the plinth, robed and holding a lyre in one hand. The pillar of the statue is cold at his back- marble, perhaps, turned a fake bronze by the sunlight.

    Summary

    Calypso.

    Daughter of Atlas and Pleione.

Master of the island of Ogygia.

A half-Titan half-Nymph goddess with mysterious powers and a bewitching voice. Missing love, seeking love, imposing love and losing love. Her story began with love. Her story ended without love. Yet. She’s lived most of her life alone with only the sky and sun as ‘friends’. Her song and the memories of her family are her strength but even time can take a heavy toll. So when someone washes ashore on her island, it awakens something in her. Something that finally continues her story when it felt like it had never begun. A feeling of love but also a feeling of a complex new set of challenges. Challenges to herself and to her new guest. Yet, is it the love she truly seeks or will she find that love comes in forms outside of love in paradise?

“It was a mistake," Zeus declared, though it hadn't been. "And one I will rectify."

That was when Odysseus began to panic. Surely not, he thought. Surely he wouldn't. He wouldn't return me to the waves, the life I fought so hard to escape, the one he himself ruled I could.

Oh captain, let's make a deal where we both say the things that we both really feel..
I feel scared and I'm starting to sink
And I only sink deeper the deeper I think

Or: Apollo is the one who came when helios' cattle had been killed and ody had the mistake of waking up too late, but that God snatches him to an island.
What if the God blinded him, what if the hands he could feel on his wings weren't welcomed but he had learned not to disobey?
    He was okay
    He was totally okay.
And who is that, that came into a godly blessed island and said his name?

[Eurlochus's face hardened, and Odysseus realised what he had said. You. Not we. Not I. You.
He couldn't bring himself to feel anything above a horrifying, detached rage, even as Eurylochus turned on his heel and stalked back to the boat, Odysseus's men following behind with nary a second glance.]

    Summary

After the crew commits mutiny, they're relationship with Odysseus is incredibly strained. The bonds they had are broken, and now they're just trying to get home.

No one realized the toll it's taken on their Captain.

(I wrote this at a ludicrous hour while sleep deprived so of things don't make sense sorry qwq also hypothetically they did not go to the island to slay Helios' cow, basically a 'what if they lived' type beat I suppose? Anyway enjoy)

    Summary

The God chuckled darkly surveying the crew. “Chose” his voiced boomed. Many soldiers flinched and Eurylochus stared in abstract horror at the realisation. Zeus gestured to the bound man.

    “Your King?”

He whipped back round and stared at the men with a gaze that has levelled mountains. The God’s smile almost seemed strained from this angle.

    “Or yourselves?”

"Tell me you did not know that would happen,"
He removes the goggles from his eyes and looks at her. Eyes filled with hate compiled betrayal mashing with empathy and sorrow.

"Say you didn't know how that would end."

She can't bare to look at him, she shouldn't feel bad- she (indirectly) killed a horrible person -she probably did the world a favour!

He slams his fist against the wall next to her, causing Margaret to stand from her seat.

"LOOK ME IN THE EYES AND TELL ME AJAY,"
his eyebrows furrow, "that you did not just let my father die."

"Bandage his wounds, he is not to die here.” Eurylochus muttered, breathless. He turns away as Odysseus is propped up and his wounds are dressed.

There's a tension in the air, a soft acknowledgement of what their future entails. The fight has left them.
