Summary
Talos hissed through his teeth at the pain, the wound from the laser blast that had ripped through his chest throbbing. Maybe he shouldn't try to move, but the way Carol was starring almost blankly out of the window bothered him. This wasn't her fault. So he reached for her hand, and her gaze snapped to him, and their eyes locked. But she didn't resist as he slowly pried her warm fingers from the comforter she'd bunched in a vice-like grip. She didn't recoil as his cooler palm settled against hers. She didn't object when his thumb started to gently stroke her bruised knuckles. There was so much he needed to say, when Carol gently squeezed his hand in reply, Talos knew they could wait.

This is an edit/update of two of my older oneshots, Blessings that I originally wrote in 2020 and Accord which was written in 2021, that I wanted to rework into a short, more cohesive fic.

This is a Maria Hill focused Secret Invasion re-write including events prior to the start of the show!
In the fall 2024, Talos and Soren get a sense of Gravik's plans to start a skrull rebellion, but Gravik evades them. Skrull Raava has been impersonating Colonel James Rhodes & Everett Ross has been replaced by a skrull. Maria Hill is hired by the CIA in order for Ross an Rhodey's skrull impersonators to keep tabs on her and any contact she makes with Nick Fury as they set their rebellion in place.
This story explains the background of how Maria and Talos got tangled up with this Rhodey/Ross/Gravik web. It explains how and why Maria was just randomly in Russia (where the show put her which makes no sense) and how she started working with "Ross" and Prescod.
This story also explores the emotional trauma from the blip and the mess that those who returned were thrown into--Maria being one of them. In this re-write Maria lives and this is how I think the show should have gone down, tons of paranoia and trust issues, lots of skrull rebels in important places, and of course a lot more Maria and Fury spy stuff.

Summary
Spider-Man and the Bad Batch team up during Peter Parker's European class trip to defeat Separatist Agent Quentin Beck aka Mysterio and his partner Mary Walker. However the mission gets complicated when Peter discovers Mary's been threatened by Count Dooku and Beck has fallen in love with Mary and is reluctantly helping Dooku to save Mary's life. The Bad Batch and Spider-Man are divided on whether or not Beck can be trusted.
Hunter decides to trust Spider-Man's judgment which creates tension with Crosshair. Tech struggles to ascertain why Beck wants Spider-Man's Karen AI for Dooku until it's too late. Leaving Spider-Man stuck with trying to outsmart the deceptive and clever Beck.
