Summary
Victoria Hudson didn't know what she was signing up for when she agreed to step in as landlady for 221 Baker Street after her aunt fell ill. All she cared about was the freedom it would grant her from the expectations of her family. The added strain of being the housekeeper for the resident of 221B was an adventure of its own, and meeting the man's sister, who enjoys nothing more than innocently messing with her brother was an added wrinkle.
Still, Sherlock Holmes wasn't as terrible as some people said he was, and Victoria finds herself caught up in the excitement surrounding him and his family. They both eventually learn that they aren't as different as they thought, and maybe, just maybe, find common ground over their shared love of knowledge.
Enola knew the whole time, though.

An almost-imperceptible hesitation in her footsteps. The slightest tightening around the corners of her eyes when he faced her.
Ah. Some of it is hers.
Sherlock Holmes’ little sister is a bit less unscathed after the match factory fiasco than he would have hoped. Perhaps a lot less unscathed.
Which is why he covers his blasted bleeding shoulder with barely a grimace and sets to tending her wounds, and those of that boy who is so enamoured with her.
Enola needs him, and Sherlock is determined not to let her down again. He has much to make up for, and bleeding out in front of her would certainly count as letting her down. So, he’s decided he won’t do that.
Unfortunately, his circulatory system has other plans.

Edith and Eudoria stopped walking, forcing Enola to do the same. The two older women exchanged a look Enola couldn’t decipher.
“Well, I suppose the way everyone does,” Eudoria answered after a moment, clearly thinking over her words. “Once my soulmate told me they loved me, colors began to appear all around me. Then, from one second to another, my whole world changed.”
Enola supposed she shouldn’t have expected a different answer. She forced herself not to think of Tewkesbury.Enola Holmes 2 but in a universe where you start to see colors after your soulmate says 'I love you'. Too bad things are never that straightforward for Enola and Tewkesbury
