Ed sighs. Last time Izzy called him that he was holding a gun. His breathing was dull and laboured, and his hands shook. The barrel rattled as the sea lapped lazily at the hull, tonguing them loose like a rotten tooth.

It’s foggy and so damp that his cheap stolen boots slip just a little when he finally lands down on the slick wood of the deck, and despite everything it feels like coming home, like taking in a deep lungful of air after weeks of holding his breath, it would feel better if he could just find- “Ed? Edward, where are you?”

Two arms wrapped around his chest tightly, Stede reached between Ed’s arms and sides, drawing himself close to Ed’s back. His grip was unrelenting, Stede held onto Ed like he was Stede’s lifeline. Ed broke down sobbing, repeating over and over the Stede wasn’t real. Stede finally broke too, all these months, he finally had a chance to cry.
Burying his face in Ed’s shoulder, Stede let out a sob that ran through his body, Ed didn’t move, he couldn’t. He just stood there, this wasn’t happening to him, how could Stede come back from the dead? How could Stede leave him? How could Stede have ever loved him? How could Stede love him now?
“Ed…” Stede whispered, “please… please… forgive me. I beg you,” neither of them spoke for sometime, “I’m begging you, I never meant to hurt you, that is the last thing I ever wanted,”
“Then why did you leave?” Ed uttered into the sea, clenching his hands.

Ed doesn't have a plan as such, but he definitely has an intention. Well, truth be told, he has the start of a plan and he intends to execute it tonight and then just go with whatever happens.

The wind rushed against the small row boat, its oak wood creaking with tiredness as the crew sat upon it. Stede looked upon the sky with a melancholy stare. The sea water hurt his eyes and dried his mouth. His body ached and his mind was fogged with guilt. He needed to get back, needed to apologize, needed to tell Ed that he loved him just as much. He needed Ed, He wanted Ed. He would move heaven and Hell to be with him once more.
