She blinks slowly, the words taking their sweet time hovering between them before making sense. Layla breathes out a sigh of relief, smiling fondly in case Steven is watching.
''Oh. That's- Is that it?'' She asks, smiling again when Jake nods. He is pointedly not watching at the candleholder where Steven is probably scolding him. Layla hopes he isn't too mad at Jake and he will see that his 'problem' doesn't have to be a problem at all.
Layla tries to contain her excitement as she speaks. ''But that's great! Falling in love is amazing. I understand Steven is a bit nervous but he really shouldn't be-''
''It's Marc.'' Jake closes his eyes in defeat, obviously feeling guilty for spilling a truth that is not his. ''Steven is in love with Marc.''
Or, Steven falls in love with Marc and somehow it ends up with them getting separated.

Steven feels himself flush at the words. This is so touching; It must’ve been for someone else and was just delivered here by accident. He’s certainly never received something like this before.
He flips the card and blinks when he sees his address and name printed there… but with no return address or name- no indication of who could have possibly sent it to him. He glances down the hall to his left and then to his right; not a soul in sight. Maybe it was Mum? No, she usually only sent postcards. A cake, once or twice on his birthdays but not flowers- and she always made sure to sign her name on the post.

Marc Spector and Steven Grant get to live the wonderful life that Marc has yearned for - they share an apartment, a fish tank, a bed and everything in between.
However, Marc did not expect that them being separated - existing within their own bodies now - would make him become so vulnerable to his childhood trauma and mental disorders that their daily life suffers from it in such an intense way.
Steven catches him whenever he falls, but he also knows that something needs to be done. They need to take at least one step toward what will help Marc to become better - a step into a direction that Marc fears the most, yet needs to be confronted with.

Whatever it was, it impressed a God… ‘ve got a right to know, yeh? It was about me, after all,” his lighter voice laughed a bit as he could actually feel Marc pulling at him to try to get him distracted enough to stop asking. “Not like there’s anyone around to look stupid in front of, hm?”
“Look… I don’t really remember it word for word. I just —"
"I said that you never abandoned me. And that I wasn’t going to abandon you, either. That the only reason I survived all of this was because you were there. That you saved me.”
