Summary
"To me history, with its hopes bound to be frustrated and its useless efforts, sometimes is so terrible that I can hardly read. I feel myself like one who lives, knowing the inevitable future, and yet is powerless to help. I see the acts of the poor human puppets, and know the disaster that must follow."

Summary
Swiftstar looked down at his medicine cat. “You say you know the will of StarClan, Larkwing, but can you tell me why the moon is still shining? If StarClan didn’t agree that SkyClan should leave the forest, they would send clouds to cover the sky.”
Larkwing said nothing, staring pleadingly at the sky. The lights of Silverpelt flickered coldly above.
Fool. She was a fool for ever dreaming. Love was a curse, and she was bound to suffer its consequences.

Summary
“Starclan have long debated whether you are worthy of the gift of nine lives. They believe you are not.”
Clear Sky couldn’t believe it. After all he’s fought for, and Starclan believes him unworthy? He opened his mouth to protest, to demand the gift that was rightfully his, but Fluttering Bird spoke first.
“Gray Wing may have forgiven you.. and he is a fool to do so. But.... I believe you can change. I still believe that somewhere in there is the selfless brother I once knew. The brother who would give up his own prey so one weaker than him could eat. So, I am offering you a second chance.”
Or
Starclan, in all their helpfulness, sends Clear Sky forward in time to teach him a lesson. And ruin his day.
