He really didn’t want to take them back to the academy, especially since those things were spat out by some weird plant monster that attacked them during their exploration. And the fact their hemoanima was used to make those strange little creatures didn’t help to inspire any confidence that this could in any way end well.

Takumi remembers everything: Every loop, every death, every failure. Time and time again, he's met by failure after failure. Time and time again, it feels like that decision in the Gymnasium will lead to nothing but another bad ending and reset.
Takumi's desire to once more have Eito as an ally and confidant (and definitely nothing romantic ;3) drives him to choose a third option:
TLDR: Takumi locks the fuck in to save his evil boyfriend-not-boyfriend from being branded as a traitor and they are both stupid pining idiots that want each other. Eito deserves a happy ending and I am willing to be the change I want to see in the world.
