Summary
After surviving a bad op, former Lt. Commander and SEAL Team Six member Dennis Caldwell retired and became a police officer while being partnered up with a K-9 officer, living in a nice neighborhood with kind neighbors and animals.
He also gets roped into hijinks that can be fun and destructive at the same time, but he always wonders how he survived that day years ago and then there are the dreams of a cream-colored kitsune he's experienced for as long as he can remember.
Who is this person and why does he keep dreaming about this person? Little does he know that he'll get caught up in events that will shake up his entire worldview as the fate of Earth itself depends on him and the pets of Babylon Gardens.

Four such pets—Grape, Peanut, Tarot, and Max—are working out the kinks in their polyamorous relationship. One night of terror may be enough to unravel all of their inhibitions.
But that’s where they’re headed. First they have to get costumes. Easier said than done on a pet’s allowance. Did I mention Grape’s in heat? Someone should really help her with that.
