The ship gets knocked around a ton due to our line of work and it’s getting harder to ignore the difficulties that come with it. What I was thinking was that maybe … you would be interested in coming on as a crew member. We’d pay for any equipment or parts that you need along with providing boarding and food plus commission.” Phil’s voice raised to a higher cadence out of nervousness.
Phil’s sitting there, squirming in his seat as if that wasn’t the best deal Technoblade had ever heard.
In which Phil runs a space crew in desperate need of a technician.

Summary
After Wilbur's tragic passing, the matter of Tommy's custody is a mess. Phil can't care for him anymore, and foster care wasn't exactly an option, but thankfully, Dream steps up and offers to adopt him.
At first, Tommy thinks he's been given a second chance at family, another shot at happiness. It sours just as quickly. He spends years hiding bruises and isolated, completely hopeless. He sees no way out of Dream's grasp.
Salvation arrives in the form of Technoblade, an old, long-term friend of the family who he'd fallen out of contact with. He refuses to look away, to ignore the red flags in the way Tommy flinches, or the half-covered black eyes and split lips. It's hard, to undo years of abuse and manipulation, but he's always been stubborn.
Technoblade becomes his only hope for freedom, but things aren't that simple.
It's only so long until Tommy finally snaps.
[ Or : After Wilbur passes away, Tommy is adopted by Dream. He spends years suffering at his hands, until an old family friend, Technoblade, moves in next door, and becomes his only solace. But Tommy can only endure it for so long. ]

“Right!” Tommy says, and then webs out the goober from the very distracted goon. “It’s supposed to be on this thing!”
“Huh.” The multi billionaire goes. And a tiny little mechanical helping’s hand grabs the goober and puts it in a usb port?
That’s. A thing.
“Alright, thanks for that, see you later!” The man goes, and then flies off.
Tommy watches him disappear.
“Oh that’s rough,” The random goon says, sounding sympathetic. “He totally duped you!”

“Uh, Santa Claus?” the man’s eyes dart frantically, bouncing off the walls.
“Your nametag, letter for letter, says ‘Technoblade, Robber Number Seventeen’. I'm having a hard time believing you right now, Santa Claus.”
Tommy raises his eyebrows. ‘Santa Claus’ raises his higher. And they have a staring contest for god knows how long, his eyeballs might as well turn into floor soup, whatever that is.
or, Tommy's parents tend to forget to celebrate Christmas. But then, on a certain Christmas Eve, Santa Claus who is definitely not just some random robber arrives through his chimney a couple hours early.

The stranger looks at him funny, and Tommy can't blame him. “Uh, from my coat rack?"

But there's this problem, a huge fucking problem at that. All Protesilaus does is mock him, taunt him over his choice of alias because he apparently likes reading Greek mythology in his free time.
Theseus thinks it's stupid, because no matter how much he wants to annihilate the villain, Protesilaus always seems to be a hundred steps ahead of him.

“Tommy?” Techno manages to croak out, voice itching his bloodsoaked throat. He runs his fingers through the kid’s sunbeam strands, something he couldn't do often back..there. He is quite unsure whether he is in a dream or not. The verge of his cognizance, wishful thinking, remorseful lamentation.
“Hi,” Tommy tilts his head to look him in the eye. “I missed you! Phil said you wouldn't be back until tomorrow. You came back early for me, didn't you?”
“..Where did I go?”
“What do you mean? You literally left three days ago because you made a bet with Niki that you could find a polar bear nearby. You haven't forgotten, have you?”

The funny part is that he absolutely knows Protesilaus’ identity. Literally nobody in this side of town has pink hair. Is it natural? He doesn’t know. Is it a wig? He doesn’t know either. All he knows is that a senior of his, that one guy Technoblade who always falls asleep in class has the same pink hair as that of Protesilaus’. In conclusion? Yep. Same person. He hopes he’s not wrong or this will be awkward.
“Hi, Techno,” Tommy greets, waving at Protesilaus who seemed utterly confused.
“Uhhh,” the hero drawls. “Who? Who’s that? Heh? Definitely not me. Nope,” he rushes to Tommy’s side as Cyberknife glares impatiently. “Kid, you need to get outta here.”
