Summary
Five years ago, Phil Lester was the frontman of The Fair Youths: an indie band with promise, a finished debut album, and everything to prove. They sent the record demo to Daniel Howell, a renowned and viciously popular critic, infamous for his cult following and merciless takedowns on the hope of being in his good graces. The review came quickly and brutally. Scathing, dismissive, and published before the album ever dropped, it crushed their momentum and ended the band before they had a chance to begin.
In the present day, Phil has paved the path for a solo path after an EP gone viral and is ready for his first album. He's older, sharper, and finally ready to be heard on his own terms. With a clear vision in mind, he thinks that this project could only go smoothly. But when his label assigns a new producer to shape the sound of his career, there’s only one name on the file: Daniel Howell. Turns out that Dan has decided to try out producing after a file of his experimental music got leaked online to rave reviews and doesn't remember Phil. Great.

Dream tossed and turned, coming in and out of consciousness. He dreamt no dreams—only experiencing odd sensations and feelings.
The back of his neck felt warm for a moment—as if something was breathing near him.
He shot up, looking around wildly, dagger poised in his hand.
Nothing. What the hell?
He held his breath, not moving for a minute.
Listening. Waiting.
It was quiet again. Nothing but the brook—the fire had died out whilst Dream slumbered.
Relax. Maybe he imagined it.
He sat back down with a soft groan, not yet slipping his dagger back into its hiding place. He rubbed his neck and shoulder, skin still prickling from whatever just happened.
Ow. What?
He pulled his hand back, tensing at the sight of a familiar crimson.
Blood. His blood. He was bleeding. Why was he bleeding? HOW was he bleeding... Craning his neck, he froze. Two sets of puncture wounds stared back at him. -

It was always going to end this way. Just a few weeks ago, Mango scolded him (scolded Kima, technically) to stop picking fights with all their neighbors if they didn’t want the whole server turning on the Mouse Brigade. So many traps. Head-to-head fights. People closing in. Riddle slips up, blinking a little too hard and a little bit too long.
I’m getting pretty tired…
