Summary
Itachi secretly investigates his mother's treason, hindered by his failing health, the loss of his official position as Clan Heir, and the strict surveillance of his clansmen. Mikoto has steadily undermined and marginalized him to keep him from interfering with her plans, but when one of her fellow conspirators injures Itachi for getting too close to the truth, not even the Lady Uchiha can remain entirely unmoved.
