So, it was strange to many that all it took for Captain Tauriel to seemingly abandon her post and disappear against her king's advice was the wizard Aiwendel bursting into her chambers to tell her that Mithrandir wished to meet her, that it was important.

What could this man even want? And then just a few years later Dori finds himself living with the same guy he slept with that night happy as he could be living so close to home. Then his phone rings again, his mom's husband's contact filling up the screen and bringing joy to his life for a second time. His home with Bifur is filled with life when the third call comes, and this time it isn't from the man that had changed everything twice before. He doesn't even look to see who it is. He doesn't know the voice. But in the end, it changed everything one final time.
Or three times Dori gets a phone call about his family in his 20's.
