“Is Eret alive?” Wilbur asks, and senses Tommy’s exhausted nod. “Y’know, in the end, I agreed with him. Maybe it really was never meant to be.”
Tommy flinches, but Wilbur doesn’t feel bad. And anyway, he comes up just as fierce as always. “No. Eret was delusional,” Tommy growls, “he was threatening us, he was making an excuse for all that shit he did—he took away our God-damned country, our happy ending.”
“Oh, Tommy,” Wilbur says, distinctly Pogtopian. He smiles bloody and wise. “That was never a prophecy or a threat. It was an apology.”//

And he knew this—the land of Skyros never wanted him, or rather, didn't want him either. Perhaps he thought what King Lycomedes had said was genuine, that he could really settle for less and seek friendship where his friendship was wanted.
Now, Tommy can't help but think that he's just being hoisted with his own petard.

or, Exile is numbing. Mundane. When Tommy makes the decision to end his life, something inside of him shatters… but maybe that isn’t a bad thing.

Snowchester was running smoothly and Tubbo couldn't be any happier than he was.
Actually, he could be, because Tommy was visiting soon! He hadn't had the chance to hang out with his best friend in forever, so when Tommy finally said yes to coming over Tubbo practically jumped for joy. And since Jack was currently staying at Snowchester along with him, it would be a perfect chance to get the boys back together again.
Nothing could go wrong whatsoever.
